Cory Plant / Player Development & Team Coach

  • This is Coach Plant’s fourth year coaching under Utah Basketball Club. In addition to coaching, he serves on the organizations Youth Committee.
  • Coach Plant is the freshman team coach at Murray High School, a position he has held for the past 20 years, where he has built one of the most successful freshman programs in the State of Utah. Since at Murray, he has achieved a .72 winning percentage. He has also coached several players, both boys and girls, who have gone on to play college basketball. Coach Plant is known for his tough defenses and fast paced offense.
  • Coach Plant started coaching in a grassroots program called Midnight Basketball, which was started by Mayor Deedee Corradini in 1992. The program was designed to get inner city kids off the streets and away from gangs. He coached three seasons, winning the championship two of those three years.
  • Coach Plant currently serves as the Recreation Director for Murray City Parks and Recreation, a position he has held for the past 30 years.
  • Coach Plant holds a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Sports Science from the University of Utah, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, and a Masters Degree in Sports Management from the University of Utah.
  • Coach Plant also officiates High School Football for the past 28 years. He has also officiated at the college level. He is currently the Arbiter of officials for High School sub varsity basketball.
